SIP is classified as a bar or restaurant by your respective bank or credit card issuer.
Accordingly, your bank automatically pre-authorizes charges made on your credit or debit card
with an automatic 20% gratuity for service.
After you sign your charge slip, the correct amount you add to a charge slip tip line is updated
on our system & submitted electronically to our credit card payment processor at the close of the night.
Our processor then submits the correct total charge amount electronically to your bank to be reconciled.
If you use a DEBIT card for payment, your bank may put an electronic hold on the pre-authorized
charge amount & prevent you from accessing this amount, until they receive the corrected charge
information from our credit card processor.
Please NOTE, anything appearing on your Online Banking statement immediately or the day after
your visit as a charge from SIP is your bank's pre-authorization and may NOT be the actual charge.
This process takes *at least* 2 business days to show correct charges on your statement or online
IF AFTER 2 BUSINESS DAYS have elapsed, you still believe you have been charged the incorrect amount,
please call us between 2pm - 2am at (415) 699-6545.
